SPECIAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER S.L.E.O. III
Now Hiring - The Class III Special Police Officer, under the direction of the Chief of Police, shall conduct school safety and security duties within the Township of Westampton School District.
Minimum Qualifications, the applicant must:
- Be a resident of the State of New Jersey during his or her term of appointment to this position.
- Be able to read, write, and speak the English language with reasonable proficiency and possess a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Be sound in body and of good health, which must be certified by a physician licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey.
- Be of good moral character and must not have been convicted of any offense involving dishonesty as would make the applicant unfit to perform the duties.
- The applicant must be a retired law enforcement officer less than 65 years of age for appointment.
· Must be a retired officer who has previously served as a duly qualified, full time law enforcement officer in any municipality, county, agency of this state, bi-state agency, or federal agency, and must be living in New Jersey.
· Must be retired from that agency in good standing (necessary to have a letter of good standing issued by the agency from which officer retired, listing the date and type of retirement. A copy will be submitted to the PTC).
- The applicant must be physically capable of performing the function of the position in accordance with the Police Training Commission (PTC).
- The applicant must possess a NJ Police Training Commission Basic Police Officer Certification or NJ State Police Academy Certification.
- The applicant must possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s License.
- Applicants successfully passing the first phase will be subject to oral interviews.
- The applicant must successfully pass a background investigation.
- Any applicant offered a conditional offer of employment will be required to pass a medical examination, psychological examination and drug screening.
Starting Salary for Class III Special Police Officer shall be between $35.00-$38.00 per hour and he/shall work as assigned, while school is in session, to be determined upon hiring.

Full Time Basic Police Officer
The Westampton Township Police Department is currently seeking applicants for the position of Full Time Basic Police Officer. We are seeking highly energetic, enthusiastic, and hard-working individuals to join our agency and serve the residents of Westampton Township.
Application Requirements at the date of application:
- Must be a New Jersey resident.
- Must be between 21 -35 years of age.
- Must possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s License.
