Volunteer Opportunities

Westampton Township has several volunteer Boards and Committees. The Township Committee appoints new members to these boards when there are vacancies. Please find a short description of these boards and if you are interested in being a possible volunteer, please submit a short resume to the township with your personal information – name, address, phone number, etc.,  and why you would be interested in serving on that board.

Land Development Board

The Westampton Township Land Development Board is a combined Planning & Zoning Board. It consists of the mayor, a township committee member, the zoning officer and citizens of the Township. The Board is responsible for hearing all applications for development, which include site plan approval, subdivision approval and variances. The Board also is responsible for a periodic review of the Township Master Plan and its elements. The Board meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM, with occasional special meetings scheduled throughout the year as needed.

Recreation Committee

The Westampton Township Recreation Committee is comprised of Township residents. They meet the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM. The Recreation Committee is responsible for many events such as the annual Halloween Parade, Easter Egg Hunt, Westampton Day, the indoor soccer program, tee ball, basketball and various other programs run by the Township.

Historical Commission

The Westampton Historical Commission is a board comprised of five members, which includes one member of the governing body.  A historic district, Rancocas Village, lies within Westampton Township and it is this board’s task to review all development and/or building permit applications for exterior work that lie within this district. It is their intent to preserve and maintain the historic character of the area. This board meets the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:00 PM.
