Raffle and Bingo Licenses

 BINGO AND RAFFLE LICENSE PROCEDURE

1. You apply for a bingo or raffle license in the municipality where the game(s) are to be played.

2. The application for a bingo or raffle must be submitted to the Municipal Clerk’s Office in quadruplicate, with all copies being originally signed by the applicant and members in charge.

3. The applications must be notarized.

4. A copy of your State Identification Certificate issued to your organization must be submitted with the application.

5. A copy of the sample ticket (if any) must be submitted with the application.

6. The appropriate fees must be submitted with the application. **NOTE – you will submit two checks with the application. The first check will be made payable to LGCCC (Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission). The second check will be made payable to Westampton Township. The municipal fee for all organizations is $20 for each raffle or bingo. 

  • Bingo. Licensing fee payable by law to the Control Commission for this type of license is $20.00 for each occasion on which any game or games of bingo are to be conducted under the license.
  • Off-Premises 50-50 Raffle. Licensing fee payable by law to the Control Commission for this type of license is $20.00 paid at the time the application is filed for each day on which a drawing(s) is to be conducted under the license. In the event the awarded prize exceeds $1,000, then an additional fee of $20.00 for each $1,000 or part thereof in value of the awarded prize(s) in excess of $1,000 shall be forwarded to the Control Commission by check payable to the Commission together with the Report of Operations as required by N.J.A.C. 13:47-9.
  • On-Premises Draw Raffle - 50/50 or merchandise in excess of four hundred dollars ($400) requires the fee as set forth above (twenty dollars ($20) for each day on which a drawing is to be conducted under the license) - Under four hundred dollars ($400) does not require a fee payable to the Control Commission or the municipality
  • Off-Premises Merchandise Draw Raffle. Licensing fee payable by law to the Control Commission for this type of license is $20.00 for each $1,000 or part thereof of the total retail value of the prize(s) to be awarded.
  • On-Premises Merchandise Draw Raffle. Licensing fee payable by law to the Control Commission for this type of license is $20.00 for each day on which a drawing(s) is to be conducted under the license only if the anticipated retail value of the merchandise prize(s) is in excess of $400.00. Otherwise, there is no license fee.

7. The application with all supporting documents and fees must be submitted no later than 30 days prior to the date the game(s) will be played.

8. The application and State fee are mailed to the State of New Jersey by the Municipal Clerk for their approval. There is a 14 business day waiting period from the time the application is mailed to the issuance of the license.

9. Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 13:47-9.1, licensees must file a report of operations with the Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission no later than the 15th day of the calendar month immediately following the calendar month in which the licensed activity was held, operated or conducted.
